Today marks the beginning of my Simply addieRae journey—a path that's been anything but straightforward. For years, I struggled with uncertainty and anxiety that became so overwhelming, I eventually sought help from a neurologist. Feeling broken, experiencing unexplained breakdowns, and questioning my worth took a real toll on me.
I've tried building businesses before. There was an online dropshipping venture in the mid-2000s—I had no idea what I was doing. Then came an online and in-person boutique a few years ago, which didn't turn out as I'd hoped. I'm grateful to everyone who supported me during those attempts because they revealed something important: I've always had an entrepreneurial spark. I've explored selling for NuSkin, Scentsy, and Avon, but none of it felt authentic. How could I genuinely promote products I didn't truly know or use? There was no personal connection, no family legacy behind them.
Eventually, I made the difficult decision to leave my job. While that brought some relief, new challenges emerged—a reduced income and the inability to provide for my family the way I once could. I applied for other positions, both part-time and full-time, but nothing resonated. Deep down, I kept hearing the same calling: I'm meant to be home. I'm meant to be a farm wife building something meaningful. After countless signs pointing me in this direction, I finally listened.
Simply addieRae is rooted in family heritage. "Addie" is my daughter's middle name, my middle name, and my mother's middle name—all passed down from my Great Grandmother Adeline. "Rae" comes from my Grandmother ValRae. These were two remarkable women who lived through hardship, supported those around them, and embodied the simple life—homemaking, baking, and creating with their hands.
That's the heart of Simply addieRae. You'll find homemade items as I'm able to create them, alongside carefully curated products with some having a homestead and vintage aesthetic. Every inventory piece is rated 4.7 stars or higher and sourced from U.S. brands. You deserve quality, and I'm committed to that standard.
I'm excited to share more stories about my journey, the things I make and bake, and the life we're building. Thank you for being here at the beginning. I look forward to growing this community with you.
